Role track

Candidate

You are the one person the campaign cannot replace. This track keeps you focused on that and nothing else.

Who this is

The person on the ballot.

Your time and energy are the scarcest resource in the campaign. You own the message, the voter relationships only you can have, the top fundraising asks, and the final calls. Everything else, you delegate. A candidate doing logistics is a misallocated asset.

Your curriculum

1

Strategy & Message

Your why, your message pillars, your contrast. Start here. Specificity wins.

2

Candidate Operations & Schedule

Protect your time. Prep to command the issues at every forum.

3

Fundraising

The parts only you can do: the top asks, call time with your closest contacts.

4

Working awareness

Compliance & Finance, Field, and Comms — enough to lead the team that runs them.

Your first week

  • Write your one-sentence "why I'm running."
  • Choose 2–3 message pillars and your contrast.
  • Recruit your three first hires: campaign manager, treasurer, lead fundraiser.
  • Set your weekly schedule with protected call time, prep, and rest.
  • Decide what only you will do, and hand the rest to the team.

Your tools

  • Candidate weekly schedule template
  • Issue-prep brief format
  • Call-Time Tracker for your top asks
  • One-page platform template
